Class Information

BCIS I Business Computer Information Systems I. This class offeres an introductory course in the Microsoft Office suite of programs. Programs covered include: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Publisher. Continuing development of typing skills established in Keyboarding is also emphasized. BCIS I is a prerequisite for many other business and technology classes.
BCIS II-DC Business Computer Information Systems II-Dual Credit. This class is offered in conjunction with Amarillo College. Students in this class will receive 4 hours of college credit in the fall (BCIS 1405) and 3 hours of college credit in the spring (COSC 1521). This class builds on skills gained in BCIS I. There is a $15/hr. fee for this class ($60 in the fall semester, $45 in the spring semester.)
PT&L I-DC Programming Techniques & Logic I-Dual Credit. This class is an introductory computer programming class and is offered in conjunction with Amarillo College. If you are thinking about majoring in computer at college, you need to take this class to get a taste of what you're getting yourself into! This class uses the Java programming language to introduce beginning programming techniques in an object-oriented environment. The first semester introduces the basics of the Java programming language, beginning with text-based interfaces and progresses into graphical user interfaces. The second semester is a Current Issues course which focuses on beginning game development.
